Bingo Basics

Dating back as far as the 1500’s, Bingo has been around for centuries and still remains very popular. The game we now know as bingo started in France, where it was adopted by the upscale, and then to Germany, where it was used for a more practical purpose – teaching arithmetic and language skills to children.

The game, now known as bingo had gone through Europe thoroughly by the 1800s, and it first came to the United States in the 1900s. From the early days of the game to today, players were captivated by the exciting nature of bingo, and it soon spread quickly, becoming both an exciting pastime and a great fundraiser used by schools, charitable organizations and of course, churches.

One of the great things about bingo is how easy it is to play.

The game of bingo can be learned in a matter of minutes, and unlike many casino games the play is very easy to follow. After all, the only equipment needed to start a game of bingo is a set of bingo cards, plenty of bingo markers and of course the bingo cage which holds the numbered balls. Online, it works in a similar way, but you don’t have to watch your boards as a computer does it for you.

You can play 100 cards at a time and sometimes more if you’d like. Everyone is familiar with the traditional bingo card, with its 24 numbered spaces and the free space of which all are different in some way. Every player has his or her own favourite bingo cards, and you will likely see the players eagerly sorting through the cards looking for the best numbers. This may be the strategy that many people think works and they get the feeling which board is their lucky one. When numbers are called, you cover the spaces coinciding with that number until you complete the pattern that the game calls for.

Once you complete the pattern, BINGO is called and you win the pot. If more then one person completes the same pattern, the pot is split.
